What are they painted with?
After extensive testing, we selected a combination of coatings which will withstand the rigors of our climate and remain beautiful for years. First our horses are sprayed with a primer coat of Jotun’s Jota Shield Penetrating Primer. After a light sanding and base coating, our artists paint their designs using Winsor & Newton’s Galleria acrylic paints. The finishing coat for our works of art is a premium clear car coat from Dupont’s automotive finishing line of coatings.

Where can I see the horses?
Starting in December 2004 through to March 2005 the horses were being painted in Creekside Stables, our large painting studio located at Creekside Park. As soon as they were finished, the horses moved to prime public locations all over Dubai. The final stage of the programme occurred in May 2005 and that was to auction or sell them to private buyers. All horses are now owned privately or were gifted back to the city, to the schools who painted them or the charity they were dedicated to. A few are still located around Dubai
