THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE FINAL EVENT
Our Gala Charity Celebration was held on May 18th in the Johara Ballroom of the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.
Sponsors, artists and guests were invited to take part in a live auction for 25 of the 100 hand-painted life-size equine sculptures that have adorned the streets and public spaces of Dubai.
An additional silent auction for 50 of the horses also took place.
- Overall Dubai’s Celebration Of The Arabian Horse has raised AED 3.4 Million for charity, almost US$ 1 Million, combining the proceeds of both the live and silent auctions and sponsors who “bought-back” their horses.
- The highlight of the programme was the Live Auction hosted by Christie’s, which alone raised AED 2.5 Million.
- And the highest single auction bid was AED 280,000 for Lot No. 25 “In Memory of Sheikh Zayed”.
- Other favourites on the night were “Haya-Lights”, the beautiful blue-mirrored horse, which raised AED 160,000 for Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre.
- And “Monarch” the butterfly horse raised a massive AED 200,000 for Al Noor Training Centre for Special Needs.

- Thanks to the sponsorship and support of Godolphin, 18 Schools had full participation in the programme and many more schools took part in other ways.
- Dubai’s Celebration of the Arabian Horse has paid over AED226,000 in honorariums to artists for their artwork.
- And the full programme has been generously supported by over 30 individual sponsors.
Many Arabians were bought at auction by private buyers and now reside in homes throughout Dubai. Many were also bought and then generously gifted, to Dubai Municipality, to the schools who created them, to the charities they were dedicated to, and to venues across Dubai.
For us, and the charities, these results are testament to this city’s reputation and readiness for giving.
