Dubai Community Theatre project and Dubai International Arts Centre have come together to create Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre. Our goal is to open the first not-for-profit, purpose built theatre and arts centre in Dubai, where cultural groups from all communities can stage events in a properly designed and managed environment. The Dubai Community Theatre has been designed to fill a long-felt need for a venue where theatrical groups of all communities, amateur and professional, can stage events. The theatre is currently raising funds to build this facility for drama, dance, poetry, comedy, opera, ballet, folk-singing - the list is endless. The aim of the Arts Centre is to encourage the development of arts and crafts in the UAE by offering classes and workshops in a wide variety of traditional and contemporary methods. They are currently raising funds to construct a building that will provide exhibit galleries, facilities for lectures and demonstrations, as well as impart a meeting place for the international community. This is one of the most exciting projects in recent Dubai history and should lead to an explosion of entertainment and culture for all nationalities and communities.
