When Horse & Carriage decided to sponsor an Arabian horse for the Riding for the Disabled of Dubai , they thought that the name of their company was the perfect theme for their design.
Their colorful horse has been a popular site in town and the flower boxes on their carriage now sport petunias to match the colors of this filly.
She is named for Alanudd (Unchained Melody), a great horse who will certainly go down in history as the best ever among Pure-bred Arabians. Alanudd belonged to the stables of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The champion had a style of decimating her rivals as they hit the front early and almost all her victories were start-to-finish affairs. Alanudd scored a whopping 37 wins with just one defeat here in the UAE. She won five editions of the President's Cup and four National Day Cup wins but her crowning glory came when she revealed her champion class on Dubai World Cup Day winning both in 1998 and 1999. Alanudd always dazzled the large crowds in the UAE and is certain to be remembered as the greatest Purebred Arabian.
